Today we recorded our dvd commentry. This was something that non of us had done before so was exciting but nerveracking. We took it in turns to introduce ourselfs and say part of the evaluation. This way it was fair and everyone got a chance to contribute. We only had to record once so we were very please with the outcome.

We have now finished all of our coursework. We have met our deadline. And we are all very pleased with our final submission of work =)

Today we started our evaluation. We tried to sum up all of the things we liked about our sequence and all the things that could have been improved on. We decided that more things went right than wrong which was good but there was a few things that could have been improved on.

We took each technical area in order to focus on certain parts of the sequence. We have written down everything that went good and bad however we only have two minuets to do a commentary so in later on we will need to cut down what we say in order to fulfill the examiners criteria.

Today we completed our soundtrack by finding a "beeping" sound for our car clip and adding this into our sequence.
Our teacher also watched our completed opening sequence and was happy with it, the only thing we may add is a voice over of Kayleigh saying "I'm Coming, I'm Coming" to add in when the car is beeping.
Today we have also looked at the questions for the evaluation, and discussed them briefly within our group...

Today we worked on our soundtrack. This wasn't as hard as we thought it would be, apart from the fact we couldn't find a beeping noise for our car.
However, we had been made a piece of music by one of our friends and we played this throughout the clips where Kayleigh is getting herself ready. This worked really well and made the clips much more interesting and real.
We started the soundtrack from the shot of one of the main characters names "Charlotte Jacobs" and ran it through to where she goes down the stairs. We also learnt how to decrease the volume in certain areas - we used this skill for when she is in the shower, so that you could clearly hear the noise of the shower, we also learnt how to fade the music out, and we used this for when she approached the bottom of the stairs.
Once we was happy with this, we found an appropriate car crash sound which we could use for the end. We added this in and felt this also worked well.

This was as far as we got today, but we was satisfied with this as we had got a lot done and felt it was something to be proud of.

This lesson, we had to add the Miramax and production company logo's into the beginning of our sequence, the two main character names, and the film title. We found it quite easy to add the Miramax logo and the RECE logo, as they were just images. These were added at the beginning with fades in between them. We then faded this into the beginning of our sequence. After a couple of shots, we then decided to show one of the main characters names, and then the other name was shown after another shot. We felt this worked well as it broke up some of the clips and made it look more professional. We then decided to add the film title at the end of our opening sequence, after the car crash.

Once we was happy with all the effects and editing, we thought about what sound effects we would need.

Today we all worked our hardest to make sure that we edited right down to the correct second of footage that we wanted in our movie. This wasn't as easy as it sounds. As we predicted, we did have too much footage, however we watched over our opening sequence and cut each clip down to what was essential. Once we had completed this, we had a spare ten seconds, which we could use for our logo's at the beginning and the film title at the end of the sequence.

By the end of this lesson, we was satisfied with the outcome of our opening sequence, we just needed to add our images and film title, and then create our soundtrack.
